Conditions We Treat
We care for adults 18 and older with headache and a wide range of neurologic conditions. Both of our physicians are fellowship-trained in headache medicine and board certified in neurology.

Headache
Migraine & chronic headache
Migraine is a common neurologic disease, not just a bad headache. Attacks often bring throbbing pain with nausea and sensitivity to light and sound, and some people have an aura beforehand. When headaches happen on 15 or more days a month, it is called chronic migraine or chronic daily headache.
We start by confirming the type of headache and looking for anything that could be driving it, such as sleep problems or overuse of pain relievers. Then we build a plan that fits your life.
How we can help
- A detailed headache evaluation with a specialist
- Acute treatment to stop attacks, and preventive treatment to reduce them
- Newer migraine-specific medications when appropriate
- Botox for chronic migraine, done in our office
- Nerve blocks
- Help breaking a cycle of medication-overuse headache
Headache
Cluster headache & related headaches
Cluster headache causes severe pain on one side of the head, usually around or behind the eye, often with a red or watery eye, a runny or stuffy nose, or a droopy eyelid on the same side. Attacks tend to come in cycles, sometimes at the same time of day.
We also treat related, less common headaches such as hemicrania continua, a continuous one-sided headache, and other trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias.
How we can help
- Fast-acting treatment for attacks
- Short-term and long-term prevention during a cycle
- Nerve blocks
- Accurate diagnosis of rarer one-sided headaches
Headache
Facial & nerve pain of the head
Trigeminal neuralgia causes brief, electric shock-like pain in the face, often set off by touch, chewing, talking or brushing teeth.
Occipital neuralgia causes sharp, shooting or burning pain that starts at the base of the skull and can travel over the back of the head.
How we can help
- Diagnosis and medication management
- Occipital nerve blocks, done in our office
- Coordination with other specialists when needed
Memory
Memory loss & dementia
Changes in memory or thinking can be worrying for patients and families. We evaluate memory concerns, look for treatable causes, and care for people living with Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia and frontotemporal dementia.
Family members are welcome at visits. They often notice changes first and are an important part of planning care.
How we can help
- Memory and cognitive evaluation
- Diagnosis and treatment planning
- Alpha-synuclein skin biopsy when Lewy body disease is a question
- Ongoing follow-up as needs change
General neurology
Epilepsy & seizures
We evaluate first-time seizures and spells that may be seizures, and we provide ongoing care for people with epilepsy, including medication management and help balancing seizure control with side effects.
How we can help
- Evaluation of seizures and unexplained spells
- Epilepsy medication management
- Long-term follow-up
General neurology
Multiple sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an immune condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. We can evaluate symptoms that may suggest MS and help care for some milder or stable cases.
Because MS treatment is highly specialized, we often refer patients to an academic MS center for ongoing care.
How we can help
- Initial evaluation when MS is suspected
- Care for some milder or stable cases
- Referral to an academic MS center when specialized care is best
General neurology
Movement disorders
We diagnose and treat Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and other tremors. Telling these apart early helps guide the right treatment.
How we can help
- Evaluation of tremor, stiffness and slowness
- Alpha-synuclein skin biopsy, which can help with diagnosing Parkinson's and related disorders
- Medication management and follow-up
General neurology
Neuropathy & neuromuscular conditions
We care for peripheral neuropathy (numbness, tingling or burning in the hands or feet), carpal tunnel syndrome, myasthenia gravis and Bell's palsy.
How we can help
- Evaluation of numbness, tingling, weakness and nerve pain
- Small fiber nerve biopsy, done in our office
- Treatment and follow-up
General neurology
Sleep disorders
We treat neurologic sleep conditions including restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Poor sleep can also make headaches worse, so we look at sleep as part of headache care.
How we can help
- Diagnosis and treatment of restless legs syndrome
- Care for narcolepsy
General neurology
Stroke & cerebrovascular care
We provide outpatient follow-up after an ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), and care for carotid artery disease and non-surgical management of aneurysms.
Stroke is an emergency. If you or someone near you has sudden face drooping, arm or leg weakness, trouble speaking, vision loss or severe dizziness, call 911 right away.
How we can help
- Follow-up after stroke or TIA
- Reducing the risk of another stroke
- Monitoring carotid disease and aneurysms that don't need surgery
